Conference 2004 Report

What a Conference!  That was the general thought after the 6th Annual S.M.I.L.E. Conference on November 19 to 21, 2004 in Phoenix, Arizona.

 About the Conference

On Thursday, November 18th, everyone was invited to go out for dinner so that everyone could meet, have dinner and have some fun! 

The formal start to the Conference began on Friday at the APS Building in downtown Phoenix.  S.M.I.L.E. President Bruce Wall welcomed the group and then Conference Co-Chairs Mark Ruffennach and Patty Meagher explained the Conference. 

Carrie Abts taught us how to play "S.M.I.L.E. Bingo" so we could meet, and Jerry Quarles went over the history of S.M.I.L.E.  This was followed by Bruce Wall doing "One Man Messages with Magic", Earl Chaney teaching "Clown Antics" with the help of Jim Howle and Dave DeDerras.  Then the same three taught Stage Presence.  Mark Ruffennach, Scott Reed and Pam Moody taught "Team Magic with Safety Messages."  Finally we had the three ring safety circus with balloon twisting with "Wild" Bill Shulte, Make-up with Jim Howle, Patty Meagher and Sue Shulte, and walk arounds with Scott Reed and Mary Jeffries.
